I was so excited for my ketchup and mustard to bloom this year. But it seems to be a nodding. Has anyone else noticed that? I just transplanted it to a bigger pot and I didn't know if it was stressed or if that was a characteristic. They hang down more than this when they get bigger.

My Ketchup & Mustard was upright until transplanted, also. SuperThrive seemed to have little impact. I'm guessing this is a rose that isn't going to appreciate transplanting during bud and bloom cycle. I'm keeping an eye on mine but it's been 3 weeks and it's still droopy.

It does look like transplant shock. Keep it watered and give it a chance to recover.

Thanks Seil, I will do that.

Has anyone had problems with the buds losing their color and turning almost completely white?

Mine is still upright, but just planted this spring...really nice rose so far. I'll remember it doesn't transplant well if I ever consider it.

Haven't had problems with the buds turning white though...

Mine are droopy too! This is my second "flush" and they are much prettier than the initial blooms though, holding their shape better, etc. but still quite droopy.

No color loss though, wonder what is causing that?

I've got a bare root that went into the ground late - about 3 weeks ago. So far, so good. Looks like I should have a bloom sometime this weekend. No drooping, but it's not quite a foot tall, yet.

It will get extreme sun, so I'll keep an eye on it and post whether the blooms fade out.

After the initial nodders, I haven't had any buds. I hope it isn't one of those stingy plants, they are so pretty.

After following a few threads on K&M, I finally broke down and bought one yesterday after seeing her in person. Northtexasdude - blooms on the one I bought have no fragrance.

Heat and age will drastically impact color, size and scent. My K&M is now upright again and blooming typical 5-petal, quarter-size summer blooms. During the spring, the blooms did have beautiful substance and some scent. The bloom fade hasn't really gone to white/brown/gray but instead to a nice deep red crispy, crunchy color. From a distance, without my glasses, I can convince myself these are roses!
