Carding Mill or Jude the Obscure?

I did pick one this year. It's Jude the Obscure for me. I love the scent and the bloom form.

In my climate, any bush that Mr. Austin indicates that can be grown as climber, will be huge bush or a climber.

Since I do not have that much room left, I chose Carding Mill this year. I also read rebloom of Carding Mill is better and handles heat best. The only down side may be its Myrrh fragrance.

'Jude' might prefer cool 24. In 23 mine gets a bit sunburnt.

I would say "both". ;)

I'm not in coastal California for sure, but Jude is one of the top roses in my garden. It's about 10 feet tall, quite upright, and almost always in bloom. Those blooms don't last very well in the heat, but there are lots worse weather wimps around here than Jude. I don't have any experience with Carding Mill, so I can't compare the two roses. Diane
