Need advice how to save a knockout rose!

Last week during a hail storm, my rose was blown out of
the ground. I replanted it the same day. Some of the leaves are drooping while others look normal. What else
should I do to keep it from dying? Thanks for your advice.

You lost the ENTIRE root system? My first thought is, prayer.

In addition to that, cut it back and water it deeply in a big circle (so its surrounded by moist soil to encourage root spread). And mulch it well.

The leaves are pumping out water faster than the roots can supply, so you need to remove some of the leaves (more than canes, which hold stored nutrients to fuel regrowth).

You could try spraying the above ground parts of the plant with an anti-transpirant such as Wilt-Pruff.

Some kind of rodent ate the roots of my Sunsprite. It had a few hairlike roots left. I soaked it in water and Super Thrive (any rooting hormone would probably do) for about an hour and potted it up and watered with the Super Thrive mixture. I water it every day. It lost all its leaves and I cut it way back, but a week later, the canes are green and plump and I think it is going to make it.

If it had roots when you replanted it, then water well and it should be OK. The leaves that are drooping probably were damaged by the hail, or the stems that support them were damaged. They won't come back, but these roses grow fast and strong. I think it will be fine if you keep it watered and remove any broken or droopy leaves and stems. After a couple of weeks, a weak plant food will give it a boost too.

i would bet the wilting leaves are broken. prune anything too damaged, and plant it, water regularly, keep moist. and i would put some diluted root stimulator on it. this could stress it some, but if you prune it back a decent amount, THIS rose should be fine.

Knockouts are very strong roses I have a double knockout rose bush so I can help. Cut all damaged leaves and steams. mix rain water and a root blooming powder together and use that to water your roses, once a week. then you can simply use a mixture of rain water and cow manure. its better than store bought flower food. I promise.
