White Rose - Milwaukee Calatrava or Queen Mary 2?

Hi,

I'm a rose novice looking to add a white rose shrub in my garden. After looking online at available plant lists in my area, I've narrowed my selection down to two - Milwaukee Calatrava or Queen Mary 2.

For those who have planted either of these, what are your thoughts? How long does it bloom? Winter hardiness? How strong are the fragrances? Ease of care?

I know the Calatrava is new for 2011, so winter hardiness is probably hard to gauge (though given that its a Radler rose named after a local landmark, I'm thinking it will be safe for the area).

Thanks for your help

Dan

I grow Queen Mary 2. It is a great rose here in Florida, at least as far as white hybrid teas go. It has pretty pink stamens that give the past prime blooms a little extra beauty. It has a medium strong scent and I can actually detect the banana scent it is advertised to have. It gets some black spot, but seems fairly disease tolerant for a hybrid tea.

I grow Milwaukee's Calatrava here in Tennessee. I love it! I really dont spray, and its always been very healthy for me and blooms well. In fact, its already bloomming and has been for at least two weeks!

Thanks for the feedback!

amberroses - I really like the form of the Queen Mary. Based on the pictures it looks very graceful. How long does it bloom?

TNY78 - Calatrava's disease resistance and long blooming time are definite pluses for me. How do the flowers look? Are they very white, or more pinkish?
