How would you describe Mr. Lincoln's fragrance?

To me only: it's sweet rosy scent. I like it best at the rose park, until they replaced Mr. Lincoln with Chrysler Imperial. A few people reported Mr. Lincoln not hardy in zone 5a - so I grow Firefighter, more vigorous, and smells TO ME ONLY, better than Mr. Lincoln.

Pretty same desc. from me - classic rose scent, on the sweet side. Luscious.

Is it close to a damask?

I'm curious about the OP's question myself. I'm not great at fragrance descriptions. I have a Mr. Lincoln, I planted it about 2 months ago. The other day they had a blooming Chrysler Imperial at a local nursery, blooming. I didn't like the scent!!! It was very perfumey, to me. Is Mr. Lincoln similar to Chrysler Imperial? Christy :)

Hi Christy: I'm so glad that I'm NOT the only one who don't like Chrysler Imperial (it smells odd in cold weather, and nothing fantastic in warm weather).

Mr. Lincoln is a sweet rosy scent, or Elizabeth Taylor "White Diamonds" lotion. I like it a lot, and Firefighter is a stronger-version of Mr. Lincoln.

Damask scent is Austin's Radio Times, it can be heavenly but at times a little bit too strong. But Mr. Lincoln and Firefigher is ALWAYS pleasant and sweet, like a rosy and girly perfume.

Many years ago I had a beautiful Mr Lincoln----I loved the fragrance but I'm not good at describing it.

I have both Firefighter and Mister Lincoln. To my nose, Firefighter is just pure rose smell - very pure and strong even to the dried out petals (this would be a great rose for potpourri). Mister Lincoln has more complexity to my nose - like Firefighter plus some cantaloupe melon smell. When they're both at their fragrance peak - they are equally strong to my nose, but I always get fragrance from Firefighter, whereas Mister Lincoln is not as fragrant when it's cold or in the evening. Again: fragrance issues are personal - each person has a different nose!
