What the heck happened to my ebb tide?

I have an ebb tide that was big and gorgeous. Then I swear in just a matter of days the whole bush just looks like it fell apart. Many of the canes flopped over to the ground and it is just a huge mess now. I've never seen a rose bush do this before. Is this normal? Should I just prune it way back and let it start over?

Is the foliage wilted? Most likely the roots have been chewed off by a gopher or voles. If so, prune severe;y, strip foliage, pot up the remains with stakes to stabilize, keep in shade until it grows some roots.

I agree, it sounds like root damage of some sort. Dig it up and look at the root ball to see and then pot it for some TLC.

Mine looks bad. I think the bush is just not a healthily shaping growth bush.
