| OK, so it's one of my seedlings...but it's from 2009 and did winter outside in the little greenhouses. It's still a bloom in the garden! Oh, we Northerners are soooo desperate this time of year, lol!
Alt0309, open pollinated seedling of Altissimo.

How exciting! It definitely has the Altissimo color. It should do well as a cut rose. Is it a climber, too?

Thanks, Kathy,I don't really know yet. It's still a pretty small plant. But this should be it's third summer so maybe it will climb! Thanks, Kristy and Krista!

It's very pretty. Sometimes I am very tempted to try my hand at making new roses :D

First bloom--hurray! And your own seedling at that--twice as exciting! I'm still having first blooms on some of my roses. Opening early seems to affect only some of my roses. The rest are staying more or less on schedule, completely ignoring the early spring weather. Kate

Jessica, this is one of my own seedlings grow from seeds from the climber Altissimo. lovemysheltie, if you send me a PM through here with your email address I have a paper with clear instructions and photos in PDF form I did for my rose society that I can email back to you. It's really not difficult at all and it's lots of fun. It's also a really great thing to do in the winter when we rose nuts up North are rose deprived, lol!

Seil, That is soooo cool! It looks to be a more complex flower than Altissimo? Please let us know how big the bloom gets when fully open. It would be great to see the evolution of your creation.. Altissimo does well here in coastal Ca. according to comments on the board. Haven't tried it yet but it's on the list! Lee

Thanks, Zeffy! I'd be happy to send you the paper. Just PM me your email address. Thank you, Lee! Yes, one of the reasons I've kept this seedling is because it has a lot more petals than Altissimo.
