Went for four roses and came home with eight!! What an amazing place to visit. Everyone there was so nice and so helpful, too. I think I hit a home run with my selections. Here goes....Portrait, Mystic Beauty, Quietness, Prairie Star, English Miss, English Perfume, Trumpeter, and President Herbert Hoover !! What do you`all think? Can`t wait to get them in the ground and growing. English Perfume will go in a pot due to zone tenderness, the others will go in the garden. Squeeze.... Lesley

I can only comment on three of them. Portrait made a good garden display rose. It was the first rose to win the AARS award that went to an amateur hybridizer. It is a good pink blend variety. Prairie Star, along with Quietness, is a Griffith Buck rose. It is an ivory with just an occasional tinge of pink. It is a nice one also. Trumpeter is a vibrant red with an orange cast to it. It is more red than some of the other orange-red floribundas. Mine is in a bad spot, but the variety is quite showy when in flower. I hope this helps a bit.

I have Quietness and Mystic Beauty. Quietness is in her second year and is absolutely wonderful. She is my favorite rose at the moment. Robust, healthy and covered with blooms. Mystic Beauty is new to me but seems healthy and I am excited to see her bloom. I just received ten roses in the mail from RU... Once Pat starts suggesting new roses, I lose my will-power. I also have a Prairie Star on the way from Chamblees. The Buck roses do very well for me. Sounds like you had a good trip! - Nichole

How exciting--and I knew, with some determination, you could squeeze a few extra roses into your car. LOL

We will be expecting photos when the babies break into bloom. After all, we helped pick some of them out. Gives us some foster-parent rights to them, doesn't it?

I really envy you living close enough to RU that you can just hop in the car and drive over. What a heady thought!

Lol, I knew you'd find more to get once you got to the nursery! They're all lovely roses, enjoy!

Hmm, intertesting that you were able to get 'Mystic Beauty'. Did you you place an order for it before your visit? When I attempted to add one of those to my order about 10 days ago, Pat said they were sold out.

Sounds like you had a great day.---Way back in the early 50's Pres Herbert Hoover was one of my very first roses---
I always loved it--wish I had one now----
