| Usually my first rose to bloom is Zeffy----but this year it is Carefree Beauty/Katy rd Pink---and Lafter----now the temps have dropped so I will just be happy to have these two buds--
Zeffy will be next I'm sure--

I'm glad you finally have some buds. We've had blooms for a month now--most unusual for my zone which is just a bit further north than you are. Enjoy those buds and I hope you get to see your namesake soon. Kate

It has been an interesting spring; that's great Florence, that you have some blooms already. Your Zeffy roses are spectacular, you must be really excited as they near bloom!

Hi Florence. I too am happy you have some roses to enjoy. Mine are just begining to leaf out, no blooms till mid June here. I just started pruning today! I miss this place, haven't been here for months. Not enough hours in the day.

Zeffy is so plastered with powdery mildew from this long wet spring. I doubt the buds will open beyond the white fuzz. It's a goner in my book.

My Zeffy is showing color now! I'm glad she didn't pout, because I moved her this winter. Now she'll be all pink and bright against my (faux) whitewashed shed/lawnmower garage. Her thornlessness is so nice so close to doors and things. I always think of you when I think of her name, Florence :) I hope yours doesn't get zapped hard by the cold!
