This is a pretty little rose. The description said spicy-lemon. I was thinking Double Delight or something like that. All I can smell is a strong Myrrh that would revive a fainting Victorian belle. Why don't they just say myrrh? I like it in small amounts and mixed with something else like in Jude th' Obscure or Abe. Darby. I couldn't smell any lemons. We'll see what warmer weather brings. Does anyone grow this rose? I want to plant it out of it's 5 gallon container but wonder about how tall it will be. I have a front spot next to french lace or a place in the back row next to pristine.

I would call it Myrrh, but with a little more complexity. I planted mine last Fall so I'm not sure about the mature size. It hasn't exactly jumped yet.

I was just meandering through a local nursery with a rather large modern rose selection, so I could check out what I didn't have in my garden and see if I foolishly needed any additions. Out of about 200 roses, one really stood out to me, which was White Licorice. What a stunning rose, and I absolutely LOVE the fragrance. It does smell faintly of licorice - guess that is the Myrrh smell which I haven't yet been familiar with, but between this rose and my new Glamis Castle, I clearly love. The blooms in early spring are more of a very light pale yellow, and form is perfect HT. I need another rose like a hole in the head, but when I find this one at a nursery that isn't so overpriced, I think it may be the next addition.

This is a good little rose so far. We just had a heat snap with dry winds in the middle of spring flush and this rose is looking great. Most roses I cut lose the fragrance after a day, but this one did not. It's very pretty with a soft color and ruffly edges but they did not wilt or get crispy at the edges. The fragrance is strong even in heat. I wish it smelled like Lemon Spice but I'm happy that it will be looking good in the summer. Right now it is the size of my French Lace, but maybe it's going to get bigger. Nice clean, glossy leaves.

I grow White Licorice here in central North Carolina. There is no discernible fragrance to my nose. It's a keeper in my garden. Full, healthy, vigorous bushes that bloom constantly and drop their petals cleanly. Mine stay roughly at 4 feet max by the end of the season (October) and will be just as wide.
