I got this rose after reading a lot of glowing postings on the web. I put it in two different locations. Well, this is the fourth year, and Dream Weaver still has not done anything at both locations. Have others had problems with this rose? It hasn't died. It just never really climbs and gets just a small number of blooms on fairly short shoots. It also gets black spot already early in the spring. Both locations get full sun and winter protection.
Follow-Up Postings:

I never had any luck with it myself. I think I tried 3 times and it either never broke dormancy or died within the yr, never showing me any blooms. I gave up!

I loved the name, but never planted it, because I gathered it mildewed in SoCal. Jeri

When I first got it, it did wonderfully. Then a tree shaded it and I had to move it. Twice. Now it is in a perfect place. It has taken 3 years to recover and it looks great right now. It should be blooming in a couple of weeks. I don't know how it does in your climate, but I have always heard a climber takes 3 years to come into its own. Here in northern Cal, it has never had powdery mildew, though lots of others do.

I found this photo of before I moved it. It was 7 years old. And very happy. |

I have one thats 3 years old. It produces blooms pretty well, but its never really climbed for me. Its more of a tall bush that I'm forcing to climb the fence. Here's a pic I took of it just this past week :) Tammy
