Well that was fast!

Last week, early, I dug up a lavender to move and replace with a rose, Carding Mill. I was in a hurry and not really thinking about what I had done, I had planned on digging a new hole for the rose a foot further back in the bed. Just got a chance to fix that hole issue today. And already had nice fat fresh rose roots heading out.

Hope the rose is okay with the move, tried to disturb as little as possible and the buds were already removed do to the planting.

Was the rose waiting in a pot or what? Or did you transplant it and transplant it again?

If it's the latter, I did that to a one-cane wonder this spring. Moved it and moved it again a couple weeks later. I just noticed it has a rose today. The little rose bush that could!

This one was in a pot, I figured it would not have had much chance to do anything...was wrong

As long as you kept as much of the root ball intact as possible the rose should do fine. It may wilt a little and sulk but it will eventually perk back up. Keep it well watered but not soggy and don't fertilize with any chemicals (organics are OK) until you see new top growth. Some people even say to wait until after the first bloom to give a good feeding.
