I have a chance to purchase some really beautiful /healthy roses in 2gal. pots. Great prices. Most are Weeks Roses. I have plenty of room. I love to cut and put them in vases.

Daybreaker
Over the Moon
Moon Stone
Cinco de Mayo
Koko Loko
Hot Cocoa
Easy Going
Berg Iceberg.
Legends
And he might have a few Santa Claus..
Thank you..It's really hard to decide.. I may have to buy them all if you don't help me.. LOL

Moonstone makes an excellent cut flower, as does Legends. Both require treatment for blackspot here. I don't think Cinco de Mayo or Koko Loko would hold up well in a vase.

Cinco lasts and lasts and lasts on the plant. I was really surprised, so wouldn't it last in a vase too? Moonstone is very good in a vase. Hot Cocoa is better in a vase than on the plant. Day Breaker blooms like crazy but has poor disease resistance.

I love Easy Going. Iceberg is a fantastic plant, but not a great vase flower.

Buy 3 bush's of Moonstone & 3 bush's of Legends. Big vases full of beautiful blooms. Daybreaker is a good cut flower for a florabunda.

Koko Loco needs to be left on the shrub to get the full effect of the color change. Brought inside, it fades to a dull grey and doesn't change from chocolate milk to lilac.

Hot Cocoa is outstanding in a vase.

Those are the only 2 on your list that I have. :)

Yes, Hot Cocoa is not too shabby for a cutting rose. As a floribunda, it's not so good, IMHO. It wants to grow taller than many of my hybrid teas. I am very aggressive in pruning and harvesting the blooms, but it barely keeps them in check.

Well, I made it to the rose nursery today. I purchased 10 roses - 9 are in 3gal. pots and are huge and one in a 2gal. Beautiful plants.
I got 2 Moonstone, 1 each- Cinco de Mayo, Over the Moon, Taihian Sunset, Koko Loco, Gold Glow, Gold Medal, Boncia and Day Breaker

Too many beauties to choose from.. Some I passed on, because they had 1000's of (I can pick up some more on Sat. LOL) I got his last CdM and Daybreaker..

Thanks for your help..

Kathy, Koko Loco or Cinco de Mayo were never been on my want list. I wasn't overly impressed with the pictures I had seen....BUT seeing them in 'person' was another thing.. I am really excited to have both

Thanks everyone--Great people on a wonderful site. QB..
