Anyone have Drift roses?

There's not a lot of info out there on these other than marketing material. I'm debating between Peach and Apricot -- found a past thread on them, but I'm wondering if anyone has anything new to add. Seems that Peach has nice color variations and a good smell and more flowers, but it seems that the Apricot has a fuller flower, which I like. Anyone have any thoughts on these or other light-colored Drift roses? Are you happy with them? Do they have a good amount of flowers all summer? Any thoughts on choosing between the different options? This will be the center focus along a walkway in front of my house.

I guess not. :) I have one now -- Apricot. I think it's beautiful.

I don't have any. However, our local nursery carries them and says that they have gotten good feedback from their customers. Let us know how your apricot performs. What zone are you in?

I'm in zone 7, northern VA. I'll update later in the season. So far, lovely healthy-looking leaves and a bunch of buds.

I saw something on Apricot Drift earlier this spring and thought it was very pretty. Good luck with it - I love apricot colored roses. Gean

I have a row of Coral Drift along my side walkway and they have been outstanding for three years- basically maintenance-free and very productive bloomers. They really are covered with blooms from early June through hard freeze here in NH.

I grew Peach Drift in Madison, Mississippi. Blooms nonstop, April 'til through October. The young Surgeons who bought the house say the bushes seem to have reached their max size, at about three feet x three feet. The color really does have an overall 'peach' effect. And, BONUS, they do quite well in semi-shade. All they need is water and fertilizer. Only downside is the blooms are short-lived.

But I'm wondering: Is Apricot Drift REALLY APRICOT? The online pics I've been seeing don't look like any Apricot I've ever seen.

drift roses are great. I planted on the sides of my walkway-they flower all summer .coral drift and sweet drift are my favorites.

I have close to 50 of the drifts.........love, love, love........they are so carefree and bloom continuously. My favorite is the pink which is a single bloom with a yellow eye and grows more as a ground cover as do the red and white. The peach is a wonder of different colors all at the same time. The coral is a smashing color. One of the newest is "sweet" which is more of a pastel pink with darker shades of pink near the center. I thought it would be bushy like the coral, peach, apricot but it has grown like leaps and bounds and is a beauty to behold. If someone can tell me how to post pics, I could show you why I have so many of these wonderful little roses.

OMG, 50 of them? I'd love to see your pictures! I'm so glad to hear that pink is you're favorite. I don't normally like singles, but when I saw that one online, I was really drawn to it. I'm just waiting to find it in the nursery. Do you have red also? I saw some newly planted roses bushes at a shopping center the other day that had tiny flowers the color of Knockout. I was wondering if it was red.

I only have two (Peach, Sweet) that I just planted last year and I absolutely love them so far. They're healthy and bloom all the time. I planted two carpet roses at my last house and then moved before they reached maturity. I went back recently and they are so ugly. I feel like Drift roses are probably better than the Carpet roses, but I'll know for sure in a couple of years.

I have five in my front flowerbed, and a few of them appear to have something like a grey mold on them; has anyone else had this problem? I cut the worst one way back yesterday, hope with hotter weather the problem will magically go away!

Emily - Did you figure out how to post pictures?

Peach Drift is the centerpiece of the organic rose garden I tend here at the Virginia Zoo and it is smashing! Nice tidy bushes that just cover themselves with bloom in an amazing array of color-- a confetti effect.
Never ANY disease. We also have the red which is just as good a performer, and more compact than the stunning Flower Carpet red.
