What climbing rose should I look for?

I have 3 nice arbors around our fishpond and would like to take out the clematis that is struggling there. There are boxwood hedges right next to the arbors and they probably take a lot of food, so I will have to be diligent about feeding roses. We had New Dawn climbers there which did really well, but my husband removed them because they were horrible to prune-so thorny. I would like to replace with something much less thorny, but would do well. I would consider any color, and would like to just go locally and purchase some packaged roses or inexpensive potted ones, because I will be needing 6 plants. I would prefer a rose which blooms more than once. Home Depot and Lowes have some bagged climbers that are around $8. I am sure they are nothing special. I know I saw Don Juan, Blaze, maybe Josephs Coat. I don't want white, for sure. Thank you!
