| I have a small plant that popped up about two feet from my own root Tuscany Superb. What should I do with it? Leave it in the ground until fall? Plant in pot? I'm not very good with potted plants. What soil mix should I use? I'd like to try and grow it to where I could share with a friend. Thanks! |

| A good potting soil, preferrably not made by Scotts/Miracle Grow should keep your volunteer rose happy. I have 2 roses that does the same thing, Yolande and Christopher Marlowe. |
|
| Should I dig it up now? |
|
| I don't see why not, keep the rootball intact as much as you can. |

| It's probably a sucker, not a seedling, so it will be attached to the mother plant. It's chances of success will be highly influenced by how many feeder roots are attached to it. If you dig it up, put the pot in a saucer of water in the shade for a couple of weeks. Once it starts growing, it has roots. |
