Still in search of admirable easy-care yellow rose bush 3'-4' all around if possible. So far have searched for:
1 Shock Wave
2 JP Connell
3 Yellow Submarine
4 40 Heros

.. for a newly opened f/s site. None of our nurseries carry any listed above ~ sigh! Very much appreciate your thoughts & experiences if you have any or all of the above!

My dau sent 3 *Let's Dance* Hydrangeas ~ 2 are being held back at the nursery as prime real-est is nil! From research PW claim part or full sun exposure now i'm in a a push & pull dilema, sigh! Here're pix of site - click on frames to enlarge ( 'hope album opens).

TIA

Here is a link that might be useful: Sunny site opened

Wish I could help but I don't have any of those. I have admired Yellow Submarine several times at the nursery though. Have you looked at Julia Child? She's a real bloom machine for me!

I grow both JP Connell and Yellow Submarine in my zone 4 pocket of "East Side Survivors". Hands down I'd recommend Yellow Submarine for what you're looking for. In its second year it's pumping out waves of fluffy light yellow (fading cream) blooms. The form is more open than most HTs, but there are enough petals that it still looks rippled along the edges and not "mum-like" as some semi-double roses do. No disease at all and tip hardy in my zone 4 pocket, so it should suit your conditions well.

JP Connell has a few blooms and is more upright so far in the same bed (Yellow Submarine has spread out to a nice 3-4' high vase shape so far). No information on the other two you mention.

Sorry Seil & Cynthia for delayed acknowledgement (internet connection interruptions).

Seil ~ thanks for the suggestion - might look into JC if she's the easycare kind I need & does not fade to near white!!!

Cynthia _ thanks for your input is truly appreciated! After reviewing specs on the 4 choices (too bad about hardiness of Shock-Wave), am now really down to 40 Heroes & Y Submarine but only KO inundates nurseries & big box stores ugh! Please dont get me wrong - love the 6 I have but 'have to try other easy care ones!!!I'm more bent now than ever to get 3 identical ones for th sunny site I prep'd ~ the Let's Dance Hs, accrd'g to supplier will not be able to handle Iowa's f/s - sigh!

Thanks again!!!
