Fooled my husband

My Fragrant Cloud gave a valiant effort to overcome the horrible winter, but eventually gave up. It was never a robust plant. But it was one I decided I could not live without. So when a local nursery had a $10 sale for 2 gallon roses, I went. Most of the roses were Tropicana and something called Intrigue, which I'm not familiar with. But I managed to find one Fragrant Cloud, one Chrysler Imperial (which I've always wanted), one Oklahoma (had it, didn't make it through it's first winter) QE and a rose called Europeana, which I just saw at a show and loved.

I don't have spots for the other ones yet, but last week I dug out the old dead Fragrant Cloud and planted the new one in the same spot.

Today my husband was out on the porch and observed the front bed. 'Wow, Fragrant Cloud really came back strong!' he said. I didn't say a word.
