 o
Canada to US??

Anyone know if you can buy roses in Canada then bring them across the border to the US? I'm right on the border in northern New York and can't seem to locate "Explorer" here in the states. I don't want to run afoul of the authorities when driving back.

You will have to obtain a permit to import, or they will be confiscated at customs.

Why not just order them from Pickering?

Here is a link that might be useful: Pickering Nurseries

Pickering stopped shipping the first week in May, but they are a good source.

That should just be a phytosanitary certificate, shouldn't it? You don't need an import permit to buy from Canada, just the PC for them to be shipped. Perhaps if the nursery ships to the US, they can provide it with advance notice so you can bring them back across the border? Kim

Give Palatine a call and ask.

Thanks for all the advice! diane nj suggested giving Palatine a call. Palatine is??
I don't think anyone will be shipping bare root this late so am trying to locate potted plants. I'd really prefer not waiting for the fall bare root shipping season - sort of wanted to get them planted and get a growing season in before fall.
Thanks again

I know people who have brought plants back from Canada, but I don't know what kind of paperwork was needed.
