I'm trying to find the advantage of Bayer all in one systemic rose & Flower care in the liquid form versus the granular form. Each is similarly priced but they list diferent fertilizer levels as well as insecticides and desease control. I imagine the convenience issue is up to the user, but are they equally effective?

yeah and what about SAFER'S Sulphur Dust SAFER'S from home depot http://www.homedepot.ca/product/sulphur-dust-300gm/909575

If you want an effective fungicide, get Bayer Advanced Garden Disease Control for Roses, Flowers, and Shrubs. Forget all the other Bayer products--waste of money or environmentally unsound. I know nothing about Safer's Sulphur Dust except that Bayer Advanced Garden Disease Control for Roses, Flowers, and Shrubs is more effective. Kate

thanks but bayer and fish fertilizer you ppl keep going on about on this site dont exist here in Canada Ontario

Hi Steve, Unless you have a specific insect problem, please avoid using a product with a built in insecticide. Repeated use of an insecticide leads to spider mite problems (and spider mites are much tougher to control than aphids). Many Rose Forum folks have large gardens and the choice of fungicide is a matter of cost and ease of application. Generally, the Bayer Advanced gives good control.

The Bayer granular fertilizer containing Di-syston (disulfoton) is dangerous and can poison your pets or children. Di-syston is the most hazardous pesticide on the home-garden market. It's also lousy fertilizer, a terrible product. Don't buy any combo product. The pesticide producers are exploiting the ignorance of novice gardeners with these products. Hrose: Sulfur should be sprayed instead of dusted because you use only (wild guess) 1/5 of the chemical; also inhaling large amount of sulfur (or other) dust can injure your lungs. "Wettable sulfur" and "micronized sulfur" can be either sprayed or dusted. Sulfur spray may be somewhat more effective than other organic remedies effective, but you have to apply it every week. Water the plants first and don't apply with any oil product (separate them by 3-4 weeks).
