| What was that I was saying about being at my limit? I don't remember anything about that? Just got this bug this morning to go visit our local nursery to see how the roses were doing. To my pleasant surprise there were LOTS of them, and they were very healthy. And alas, I came home with two - Elle and this mysterious single light yellow (a little more yellow in person than the photo shows). I saw this rose there a few months ago, and although I've never been a fan of singles, this one captivated me. No fragrance, and no name tag. Owner thought it was from Weeks.

Could be Golden Wings. Those orange-red stamens are characteristic.

I'd say 'Golden Wings' as well. Congratulations: you got yourself a nice rose.

It's Golden Wings, definitely. And it didn't come from Week's. They probably picked it up from a specialty grower. I used to buy it at the beach from Suncrest Nurseries. Some of them grow some pretty neat stuff own root. Kim

Ah - thank you guys so much. This rose felt too special to not have a name. And indeed, the owner who doesn't know as much as it seems she should about roses, does seem to sneak in some DAs and some misc. others that indeed are not Weeks, from who knows where.

Yep, looks exactly like my GW! It's a beauty and I wouldn't part with mine. Blooms a lot, has pretty good disease resistance and is winter hardy to the tips most years. Sadly, I can't seem to get it to set many hips and if it does (and the squirrels don't get them) the seeds don't germinate very well. In five years trying I don't have a single seedling from it!
