I planted a bunch of old garden roses on a slope and when the deer eat all the buds I can't tell one rose from another. Occasionally the deer miss a few and I discover a new bush. Two so far. |

Definitely. The wimpy own-roots that never get more than 12" tall are unquestionably easy to forget. I once tried to plant a hybrid baptisia in the 'empty' spot where Maggie sort of, tries to, kind of exists. It wasn't until I got a thorn in my finger firming the soil that I figured it out.

That is Betty Prior, I believe; mine is in front of the dining room window, which makes it difficult to forget. I'm constantly looking at my roses so I don't think I've ever forgotten one. In fact, I'm always urging them on to do something, to perform, to bloom, to stop with the mildew - they probably wish I did forget about them sometimes. Ingrid

I was shocked when I saw it, ha ha. It is really beautiful though, and I am glad to have it.

Yes, I've done that! I had a rose I got late one season and I put it in a spot I don't check as often and the next spring I found this rose I had no idea I had! Good thing it came with a label or I wouldn't have had any idea what rose it was, lol.

I forget some all the time. Bloodhound tore up the paint sticks I had written on. She had such a good time!
