Hi all, I would love to get some of the hybrid teas that can be twiggy growers in an ownroot rose. I don't mind waiting the three or four seasons it will take for them to really take off. I was hoping for some of the following. Sterling Silver Blue Girl Vavoom Brides Dream Anybody have a nursery that provides ownroots out there? Thank you!!

Check and see if Roses Unlimited or Chamblees carries them. Excellent nurseries--ownroot roses. Kate

If you search the rose you want on HelpMeFind, you can click on the Buy From tab to see which nurseries offer it. When you visit those nurseries' web pages, you'll be able to see which sell own-root roses. There are a few out there. :-) ~Christopher

You need to order from chamblees. excellent product and service. They should have something you like, even if it is not those specific roses.

Antique Rose Emporium has very nice roses. You need to order soon before many of the nurseries stop mailing. Antique Rose Emporium has more heritage roses than modern ones. Sammy

Close to your zone, I really like Roses Unlimited. Also longagoroses (also sells on ebay) and further away but still great plants Rogue Valley Roses.

My favorite for size is always RU :) I have never ordered from Chamblees, but everyone always talks about how large theirs are, too. Lots of places carry bands, and those are all ownroot. So try to find one that has all the ones you want. RU really is the first place I think of for ownroot older hybrid teas, so do check there.

Roses Unlimited has Bride's Dream listed under hybrid teas. I buy all of my roses there.

Burlington Roses..I havent ordered from them but heard good reviews on pricing, quality and shipping cost. Email them for catalog... Longagoroses..good quality band, a bit pricey if you want DA, I paid $10.00 for shipping on 3 or 4 band. She sells on Ebay too. |

Sterling Silver is a weak and problematic grower when grafted. I would imagine that it may be hardly viable own root. Then again I have only grown it grafted so I wouldn't know for sure. Nik |
