| Today my favorite rose is Neptune. Tomorrow, we'll just have to wait and see if anything is roseworthy. What's your favorite rose today? |

| climbing America. Lots of nice blooms, and a new color...for me! |
| Couldn't stop taking pictures of Intrique today, so I guess that's the one. :) |
| Valencia. I would say Firefighter, because it's new and bright and shiney to me. But Valencia is my old and trusted and never-fail rose. Loyalty counts. |

| Kathryn Morley I wait all year for them and the weather has been just right so they look amazing right now. |
| For today it's Souvenir de President Carnot, an exquisite very early hybrid tea which is still a tiny young bush with one beautiful pale pink flower. I can't think of a single modern hybrid tea which has so many petals and has such a lovely shape. |
| Excellenz von Schubert (photos in the Gallery). By the end of the week, it will be Caramel Fairy Tale. And that trooper, Princess of Wales, has some lovely blooms today, not many, but still appreciated. |

| Today it's Moonstone. |
| Today it's The Fairy--mainly because this is the first time it has bloomed. But what I'm truly excited about is the first upcoming bloom on my new Red Intuition and/or on my new Lady of Shalott. Pictures in about a week or so! Kate |
| Mine have really just started to bloom but my new Eyeconic Pink Lemonade had another beauty on it today. |

| Marilyn Monroe was the best of them all today. |
| Chrysler Imperial. We've had a cool spell and the bloom is that exquisite deep crimson it gets in the spring and fall. The bloom appears to be made of the most sensuous plush velvet with a fragrance to compete with about any other rose I know. There's a reason this rose is still very popular after 50 years. Long may she reign....Maryl |
| My favorite rose today and every day is one that doesn't have any blooms on it right now as it's just finished its first flush. In a few weeks it'll be starting it's next. Just Joey. If I had to say my favorite looking bloom today, I'd have a different answer 50 days in a row. |
| Teasing Georgia - It is COVERED in GIANT blooms today and has for over a week. I have it next to Tamora draped over w/honeysuckle. I just added Graham Thomas next to Tamora to complete the bed. (I get one for each significant day of my life, birthday, Mother's Day, etc.) |

| Oops, should've put the word "blooming" in this thread...2012 What's your favorite blooming rose today? |
| Well, today is all different because Golden Wings bloomed! |
| Rouge Royale. I transplanted it from a pot last fall and it has had no less than 5 blooms since the end of March. The scent is intoxicating and the hot pink cherry color is striking. |

| I didn't think I could possibly answer this question as every day about 10 roses vie for that spot. But alas, this morning my first buds opened on Princess Alexandra of Kent. Oooooo ahhhhhh mmmmmm ..... |
| Got to say Abraham Darby, it was my first rose, got it in 1982 and it's still going strong no matter how much I whack at it! This rose got me into checking out antique roses which have become my passion. For years this bush was a blackspot magnet but I couldn't resist the roses and their lovely fragrance; then all of a sudden he straightened up and is as healthy as can be, I don't have a clue why... |

| Well, Circus is really looking good and getting lots of compliments today, and it is a rose that I was first introduced to at a very young age by a beloved Aunt, so it has an in. On the other hand, Hot Cocoa today produced the first bloom I allowed from a spring-planted band, and I was pretty intrigued closely observing all the levels and shades of colors on its petals. (They actually changed when brought in under florescent lights). None of the shades particularly reminded me of cocoa, though. I guess Circus wins out. |

| as fate would have it my favorite today rose is abbaye de cluny i find its small and hideous blooms invigoratin it would be a perfect addition to any one of your distasteful gardens |

| Louise Estes |
| 'Secret Garden Musk Climber'. It is damp enough with the May Gray to waft sweet clove fragrance everywhere. Yummmmm! |
| Lady Emma Hamilton. She's new this year, so I still clap for her everytime she makes a flower. lol |
| Today, it is Broadway, this is its first year in my garden and I really like it. |
| I need SGMC. I can't understand why we can't get it in Oz. Would be a hit here. No PBRs as an impediment. |

| L.D. Braithewaite. Beautiful, red blooms. Seems to be a much under-discussed rose here! |
| Peace, Perfect Peace |
| Hey - I have Broadway. It's pretty good. However, I'm a traditionalist. Like rosarama, Peace will always be my favorite. |
| If I still grew Peace, it would probably be my favorite. However, since I don't grow it now and since my brand new Red Intuition should be open tomorrow, I predict that tomorrow Red Intuition will be my favorite blooming rose. I'm so excited to see the first ever bloom on Red Intuition. I actually dug up a rose so that Red Intuition would have the perfect spot to grow--and she has been doing a swell job of growing! Kate |

| Do we have a limit on how many days we can respond ;) Today it is Twilight Zone. Every time I see a new bloom on this guy I'm loving it more and more. New bareroot in Feb., went through it's first little baby bush flush. Now starting on it's second. Two new gorgeous blooms opened this morning, and it is just to die for. The color is such a distinctive, dark, rich purple. And fragrance on each new bloom getting better and better. I couldn't be happier. |

| harmonyp, No, there's no limit on how many days one can respond. I think it's interesting that we have seasonal favorites, but also, different daily favorites. My favorite today is POWERHOUSE -- form is great, but the orange is so bright orange! WOW! |
| Yesterdays favorite was a pair of unknown pinks I grew from cuttings from the neighborhood. It is the first time I have seen blooms on those two plants! Felt good! Doesn't hurt that I now know I did label them correctly, but the third of that particular trio... maybe not! But, two out of three isn't bad! Number three will just be a surprise for later in the month! :) Today, though, it would have to be Black Magic. Several buds going, one just *almost* popped today. So close! I think she will be tomorrows favorite, too! She is barely open, but looking very dark and velvet... very pretty! She deservers more sun, and will be getting some soon. After the dogwood near her blooms it is getting a trim, now that it is growing straight up towards the sun and not like a canopy to the left over the bed! The maple shading the dogwood was cut down last year and FINALLY it is growing straighter. Before, it just looked like a badly placed, badly pruned tree. Which she was. She is filling out up top better than I thought she would, so I am glad I held off on a super hard prune and gave her a bit more time to show what she was made of. So many times I stared at it and though "Why plant a tree directly under a tree?? Not cool!" Of course, the same could be said regarding me planting a rose under a tree, under a tree... but hey, I had a long range vision! ;) It will be Black Magics turn to fill out next! :) My layers of shade are ever-changing for the best! |

| Surprisingly, Today it is Gruss an Coberg. I really didn't expect much from this rose, got it mainly for its history. But it has such an intoxicating and wondrous fragrance I can't stop smelling it--and it seems to remain consistant throughout the day. Marie Pavie was a favorite for a few hours after it first bloomed a couple of days ago, also because of the fragrance, only I discovered the fragrance had faded by noon and hasn't come back since on any of the blooms. |
| Wonderful photo, seil! Kate |
| I've seen Louise Estes in here twice. Could someone post a photo? Today for me it's Crimson Glory, and the bloom is now on my desk. Beautiful deep velvet red, it smells like lemon pledge. |

| My overwintered roses haven't started getting leaves yet; but my new ones I've just planted have some flowers. Singin' the Blues is my favorite today. Very dark lavender so far (not fully open and very cool here). The fragrance is unbelievable. I like it better than Double Delight or any other fragrance. Wow!! Carol |

| Today's top rose is Sun Struck. She gets afternoon shade and keeps her color until petal drop. If you like oranges, this is a good HT for garden and cutting. |
| WS2000. I've been on the fence about this one, with its big octopus arms and flowers on the ground. Today though, it has one perfect flower and I forgive it. |

| Wow, many of my new roses are blooming for the first time. Aunt Margy's rose has a wonderful fragrance, Folklore has perfect color and form. But when Quietness opened all the way, It went straight to the top. Beauty and fragrance together. I think I might even like it better than Souvenir de la Malmaison, which is one of my alltime permanent favorites. |

| Tie between Christopher Marlowe and Mardi Gras |
| My "Judy'" rose named for my Mom after she passed away, incorrectly marked bare root was supposed to be Tropicana but is the most perfect fragrant velvet red rose I have ever seen. This is the 3rd year for it and it gets better every year. |

| Taboo/Barkarole is tops today. I adore watching black buds open to a true, deep red with none of the pink or purple tones in it. Absolutely perfect form on the first couple of days, and still attractive after the centers blow out. |

| Today it's two. Peace and Chicago Peace planted right next to each other. Beautiful display. My garden is starting it's second flush, so I'll have a different rose almost every day for a while. |
| Today it is Ambassador,I planted it on April 12 and it is now loaded with blooms. |

| I have 5 roses (newly bought) that have blooms on them 1. Gemini 2. Singin' the Blues 3. Nicole Carol Miller 4. Perfume Delight 5. New Zealand My favorite is Nicole Carol Miller. It makes my heart sing. The fragrance is so strong and sweet. The lavender with pink edging is more subtle than Paradise and just looks lovely. Carol |
| Wow - Nicole Carol Miller must be pretty darned pretty to be prettier than Gemini. I just googled her, and indeed she's gorgeous - never heard of her before this. Today for me it's Stainless Steel. Fragrance is simply to die for. |

| Today it's Dark Night. |
| White Gold..I got it own root from Palantineor Pickering. It's it's third year and spectacular this year. Nice fragrance and no BS. |
| Ayreshire splendens - a field rose related to R.arvensis. Perfectly formed nodding palest pink with slightly deeper tones on some of the petal edges. A modest, even prim rose but heartbreakingly lovely. I have to crouch down and hold its head up as it is on the lowest rung of the post and wire rambler fence - worth the effort of kneeling in the weedy path. |
