new disease??

been growing roses for 50 years but have a new problem.

About 3 out of 12 have developed white edges on the leaves which eventually turn completely white then brown then die. One or two stems at a time

One bush looks like it's already gone.

I uncovered them about a month ago and all looked healthy.

Have applied Bayer rose and flower care.

only thing i can think of is fertilizer burn, but why not all of them. The Bayer is pretty low in nutrients and i have used it for a long time without any problems.

will post pics if necessary

Every variety reacts differently so what ever it is could effect some and not all of them. Have you had really lousy cold weather like I've had? Could it be freeze damage? Or a combo of freeze and fertilizer burn? I've noticed that some of the leaves on mine that got frost bit look sort of silvery in color.

Same here---I thought everything was fine, but that's how the frost damage looked on our roses. Sort of silvery or white, then it turned crispy and brown.
