HTs Handling the Heat

It's been 100+ for three days, with 17-22% humidity. Here's one of my HTs that is looking good through it all.
Gold Medal is a California-bred rose, which is one reason why I got it. So far it's loving the heat.

And here's Granada, one of my top roses this year. I just love the color combos. This one is in a container, needs to go in the ground soon (when it is cool enough to dig w/o incurring heatstroke), and was moved last weekend from a shadier to a sunnier spot. The bloom is undersized, and this photo is blurry, but good heavens -- it is a beautiful thing.

Lucky you! Maybe yellow roses are better in the heat than other colors. Yes, the heat has just been brutal. Let's hope it's a blip and we'll have a cooling period between now and end of June.

I wondered the same thing about yellow roses doing better in heat. Does anybody know?
Thanks,

Yeppers, the yellows tend to be the heat lovers...at least that's been my experience in growing roses. :-)

Despite the ferocious heat, this one hasn't dropped a single petal.
