Can anyone tell me why my yellow St Patrick roses have red spots on the outer petal layers? Other than that they appear healthy.

Thanks!

Botrytis, a fungal infection most prevalent in damp or rainy weather. Dry hot weather will clear it up.

Here is a link that might be useful: pictures of botrytis

I live in San Diego where it's dry and warm/hot and I don't see any creepy crawlies so I wouldn't suspect 1-3, but I'll look more closely. I've got a couple of Secret in between and those don't have the problem.
Do you have a preferred treatment for botrytis?
Thanks for the suggestions and pictures!

Preferred treatment for botrytis:
Warmer, dryer weather.

Look, we've had a perfectly cr*ppy spring, weatherwise, for roses in SoCal. This, too, shall pass ... but WHEN, you might ask . . .

You might ask, but only Ma Nature can tell you.
If it makes you feel any better, I have blackspot in my Camarillo, CA garden -- a bigger problem than pink spots on blooms.

But all of it WILL pass. The weather will get warmer, and dryer, even here, near the coast. Botrytis and blackspot will be distant memories, and we'll all move along into summer.

FWIW, I once asked Tom Carruth what 'St. Patrick' was likely to look at here, in my generally cool, foggy, climate.

Dear Tom thought it over and said (in that lovely Texas drawl) "B*tt ugly."
(It is a rose that succeeds best in warmer climates.)

So, tho I used to grow 'Secret' (which was GREAT here) I do not grow 'St. Patrick,' and never have.
