I am new to roses and I want to add color to my backyard by making a flowerbed. I bought two Dame de Coeur and three Julia's Child roses. I want to plant the taller roses in the back and the smaller roses in the front, double staggered. I am having a difficult time finding how tall each rose gets in Central Texas zone 8a. If anybody is growing either of these roses in Central Texas zone 8a, please let me know how wide and tall they get.

helpmefind.com lists Dame de Coeur as 3-4 ft tall and Julia Child as 2-3 ft tall. Even if roses tend to grow taller than stated in your region, I think the chances are that Dame de Coeur will still probably be a foot taller than Julia Child. Nice combo--strong contrast in colors. Should look great. Kate

I only have, Julia Child, but here in S.C. zone 7b Julia is between four and five feet. Blooms like crazy, so she may be prettiest in front of Dame de Coeur. Like Kate said, if thats how help me find defines the height its likely your Dame de Coeur will grow taller. This picture is from last spring. by the end of the summer she's hiding the fence top.

My Julia was between 3 and 4 feet tall last year. It's also about 4 or 5 feet WIDE too! I still think I'd put the HT behind Julia though. She's very disease resistant and if the HT spots and drops her leaves Julia will hide it!

Thank you for the information. I planted the Dame de Coeur behind Julia's Child roses. I can’t wait until they bloom. mzstitch your roses are beautiful. I hope mine blooms as good as your.

Trust me Willow they will. Julia blooms continuously. I keep deadheading her at least once a week to encourage her to rebloom. She's a great cut rose too for a short vase!
