I know the feeling Kippy. I collected all the pollen available from useful roses yesterday then offered it on the RHA. I knew they'd all be toast by today if I hadn't. It all found good homes and the plants now don't have the added stress of trying to flower during this hellacious weather. Kim

There will be rose toast all over the West. Up here, we're expecting 107 degrees on at least two days, with 100 degrees and up for about the next 10 days. Nothing will be left of my roses' blooms after that. Usually, this kind of weather starts after July 4, but predictions for the next three months say much hotter than normal temps are expected for the arid southwest, plus southwest Idaho. This is on top of only 4 inches of rain here since Jan.1. I think I'd better just switch to growing sagebrush. My condolences to everyone who will be frying over the Fourth. Diane

I am going to shade some of the newer planted roses with shade cloth today, just too hot for them. But Yves kills me with all of those buds, first big big flush and fried.

Yves is one of my favorite bushes, even tho' mine looks mildewy and cranks out only a few blooms. Maybe someday I'll move it to a sunnier location.

Checking the blooms today, Double Delight blooms look the most fried. The yellows and pale pinks look better.
