It took me a sec to get the joke..lol

I like it a lot, so much so that I've added additional plants to the front of one of my Austin beds. Both own root and grafted it's a consistant grower in my acidic red clay and it doesn't set seeds readily and seems to dead head itself rather nicely. Fall color is best, because the June hot day temperatures don't enhance any of Mr. Austin's more pastel roses.

I have a mixed review. I do like this rose--blooms are an exquisite pastel--but in our Kansas heat (90s-100s+ in July and August--actually in June this year--like right now!) those delicate blooms burn up or fall apart rather quickly. Perhaps that would not be such a problem in your less sunshiny area? I've had the plant for 4-5 years, and only in the past year has it become vigorous--real wimp before that. Ann seems to have had better luck with hers, so maybe mine was just a fluke. At any rate, I like it well enough that I've been willing to nurse it along for several years, but I'd love to see it burst out in blooms all over the place sometime in the future. As of now, I get somewhat isolated blooms, although it re-blooms quite regularly and consistently. It is a shorter Austin, I assume you know. If it took up a bigger space, I might not have babied it this long. Disease-resistance (BS)is fairly good--not outstanding, but better than average. Wish I could be more enthusiastic, but let me say that I have no plans of getting rid of it, so I do have faith in this plant. And Kim gets the award for the worst joke of the day. Anne is not laughing! Kate : )

HA HA HA!! I love this forum. As far as the Anne Boleyn goes, I can't really comment as I don't grow her but she sure looks beautiful in her HMF photos. The coloring looks beautiful.
