| Last spring, When I heard the learned entomologist, When the proofs, the figures that Japanese Beetles would be worse this year because of last year's wet summer, When I, sitting, heard the entomologist, where she lectured with much applause in the lecture-room, How soon, unaccountable I became tired and sick; Till rising and gliding out, I went home to my garden, and from time to time, Look'd down in perfect silence at my roses in full bloom. |
