Altissimo Blackspot/ Really Healthy Red Climbers?

I'm disappointed with my Altissimo rose. I quite like the flowers, and I love the red color against our trellis, but I've had a real problem with blackspotted, ugly leaves.
I know it varies greatly from zone to zone and even yard to yard, but has anyone had good luck with a red climber?

I've found that the English roses I've planted have been blackspot free and Cornelia, Autumn Sunset, Ghislaine de Feligonde, and Marie Pavie are clean as a whistle. So that gives me hope that it's not just me, but maybe not the right rose for the spot!

But I'd love to find another red!

Thank you,
Eileen

I have cl. Blaze. It is 2 years old from bareroot planting. Currently about 6' x 6'. Has been covered in red blooms since early April. Not a spot of disease or fungus anywhere. And I have red that Blaze Improved is even better.

Quadra is very BS resistant everywhere to the best of my knowledge. Definitely healthy here in MD.

Improved Climbing Blaze is a good choice. I'm trying Crimson Sky here; it's first year, and so far, no blackspot.

My favorite climber is a red climber....Ramblin Red! Wonderful rose! Vigorous, disease free in my no spray garden, and blooms all the time...love it!

Amadeus.

Blooms are both large in size and formed in large clusters. They last for weeks on the plant even in high heat and do not burn. It is also a pure red and striking in the landscape.

It also repeats very well and heavily. The disease resistance is remarkable and it is both vigorous and with better than average winter hardiness (granted not a concern for you).

If I had to pick only one red climber in my garden, this is the one I have and I already grow Quadra and another good one, Dublin Bay.

Honourable mention to Red Corsair, but it wants to be more of a huge shrub than a traditional climber/pillar rose.

I'll have to add my vote for Ramblin' Red. Have had it for 7-8 years and no BS or other problems. This is a picture from 2010 but gives you an idea. Repeat is very good.

Dynamite, also known as High Flyer, is clean here and blooms well.

I'll put a link below to the HelpMeFind listing:
