Forgotten Dreams?

I am including a picture of a rose I've had for about 12 years that has been very dependable, it is a HT named Forgotten Dreams, it is a medium red, definitely not in the same category as reds like Mister Lincoln, Chrysler Imperial, Veterans Honor, Firefighter, etc., but it is a good rose and always my first one to bloom and the fragrance is wonderful. Seems like the name is apt, because I never see or hear it mentioned. Was just curious if anyone else has it. I'll be glad when I get the picture thing figured, my photos don't look very good on this site.

I live in England too. My late husband bought me this rose some years ago . I love I,t so much I tried to buy it with no luck. My.blocal Rose grower Seale nurseries near Farnham Surrey, made some bushes for me. I supplied him with a flowering stem with a faded rose , about 18 inches long, in June 2015. He budded roses from this and created 6 plants of which I bought 3 bushes from him in July 2016 . It cost me £30 for the roses to be budded and then about £30 for 3 bushes. He still had 3 bushes and I hope he has been able to bud more stock, so that this lovely rose can be available once more.

i know I am writing this in 2016 and the original enquirer was in 2013 but hopefully someone will see this and finds it helpful.

I have a Forgotten Dreams rose. I live in England & have had the pleasure of owning this beautiful rose for about 15 yrs. I would love to buy another, does anyone know who would stock it, as I've not had much success in finding it yet.

Wow. I think that's the rose that died in one of my pots out along the fence. I've been trying to figure out which one it is, because the handwritten tag is so faded I can't figure it out. I'm almost positive that's the one tho. What a bummer. It's such a beautiful rose. I don't believe it's available anywhere any more.

Hey! I just looked on HMF and they show Heirloom as carrying it. I checked the website, and it's out of stock right now. Good to know I can replace it someday. I don't know if they ship overseas Pauline, but you might email them and ask.

It does seem to be a rose rarely seen or mentioned, that is why I started this post, because it is really a good rose. Just like Beth said Heirloom carries it. It's frustrating not to be able to find a particular rose. Pauline, I hope you are able to find another one, if not in your area, hope Heirloom will ship it to you.

Amazing what a little TLC will do. I pruned Forgotten Dreams way back this spring and this is its latest flush. I'm pleased.

Good stuff to see, I also happen to have this rose, purchased it as a band last year from Heirloom Roses, it bloomed quite well for such a tiny plant but practically didn't grow, ending the year at less than 8 inches tall.

Does anyone grow it own root and is it a good grower on its own roots?

braverichard, I also got this one last year as a band from Heirloom and had the same experience. It bloomed very well but stayed smaller than most of my other bands planted in 2016. If it survives the winter, I'm planning to dig it up and try it in a pot as the color isn't quite right for where I have it. The color value was very similar to a fuchsia pelargonium I had near it, which can be seen to the left in this photo.

Janice, I see how this rose would be so important to you. I'm glad you managed to get it budded and I'm sorry for the loss of your husband. Hopefully Pauline can contact Seale Roses. They sound like a wonderful nursery.
