In any large relocation project, the easy way to go is bare-root. Foot-long canes with no leaves, foot-long fleshy roots. Bag them to retain moisture and keep as cool as possible. Do it fall through early spring if possible; otherwise heel them in in the shade or keep in buckets of water at the new site and plant or pot up promptly, removing any new growth buds that have popped. The problem is, moving is such a hassle, you may never get to the roses.

I moved all mine when they came with us to the new house. We potted them up and keep them in full shade until fall then planted them in the ground.
