I gave my neighbor three knockouts and they are finished with their first flush of blooms. There are many many brown buds or hips on the plants. Can I prune these off with a hedge clipper or do I need to cut off each one indivdually?

I use a hedge clipper to deadhead shrub roses that make lots of clustered flowers. After it reaches the size you want, you can stop bothering to deadhead, as KO will rebloom pretty well despite setting hips.

Thanks, I just lightly sheared off the spent flowers!
