Halloween is one of my favorite roses. It has big blooms with a many petaled, decorative shape and the colors are brilliant. Also, it is a frequent bloomer and has a wonderful scent. It will need spraying if you are in a blackspot area, but is not a blackspot magnet by any means.

Halloween does well here, I have three of them.
It happens to be my wife's birthday so it's a must have.
I don't spray so it does get a bit of BS but is otherwise healthy, and we love the fragrance.
The only problem is it's difficult to propogate so it's difficult to obtain.
As far as I know only Vintage (custom root), RVR and RU carry it and you usually have to get on a list.
Although a HT it has an unusual bloom shape as you can see from the pictures.

Primarily because of Chuck but with some gentle enabling by Snowheather also I bought this rose from RU this year. Arrived happy and healthy and now planted in the ground. I can't wait to see what it does. A real beauty isn't it?

Our Rose Society added a new class for Decorative Roses at the Spring show. Guess which rose won - yep, HALLOWEEN!

And, I thought I would mention that I made a little "scary garden" around it. I planted a daylily and an iris, both named HALLOWEEN TRICK, and another daylily named LUNACY!
