Rose bush with brown spots on petals

Posted by naturaljo 5 (My Page) on

I have a few rose bushes. They are all blooming and growing wonderfully. My only concern is one white rose bush that has brown spots on the edges of the petals. Can anyone tell me what the likely cause of this is?
Too much shade? Too much water? or something else?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Botrytis, perhaps?

Probably thrips. Once the weather heats up a bit more, they will probably subside. If you use the "search" function and enter "thrips" you will find many threads that may be helpful.

Here's a link with a picture of a thrips damaged white rose. Familiar?

Can you post a picture of the problem flowers? Without that it's difficult to say for sure what your problem is (although thrips is a common problem).

Sounds like thrips to me.
