Suddenly, I want more roses

Can someone please give varieties of roses that are excellent performers in zone 4-5a? I want really nice gorgeous blooms and reblooms if possible! :D

Thanks!

It's always possible that my idea of "really nice gorgeous" differs from yours, but here are some roses that have done well for me.

Of the Austin Roses I've tried, the best performer by far has been Gertrude Jekyll. My first one was huge and stunning for 20 years. Her replacement did poorly from the start, and is no longer with us. I may try again, though, as GJ's form and scent were memorable.

I presently have Abraham Darby and Sharifa Asma, both lovely and both quite small.

I have two Canadian Explorer roses, Champlain and William Baffin. Champlain, too, has never grown up. But its fall flush is impressive. William Baffin is huge and delightful, but doesn't rebloom. Here's William:

Some Buck roses have done well here. Earth Song, Carefree Beauty, and Prairie Sunrise would top my list. Here's Prairie Sunrise:

Abbaye de Cluny is a lovely rose that keeps hanging on.

Crimson Sky is a climber that has done amazingly well for me. It is not scented, but it is fabulous in every other way.

Rugosas fit well into my casual, old-fashioned garden. Dart's Dash is a favorite of mine:

And Sunsprite, presently covered in buds, is a great yellow.

Hope this helps. I'll probably think of more as soon as I click Submit.

You do not indicate what type of rose you are interested in.

Polarstern is a great white rose that is almost a continuous rebloomer, and is very hardy. I don't have to cover it at all.

Earth Song, a pink Griffith Buck, is almost a continuous bloomer, is is probably the most outstanding rose for this zone I have grown, as far as something that is easy to grow.

Royal William and Red Masterpiece have done well for me in this zone for red hybrid teas.

There are many others, but if you are interested in modern appearing roses, these are really great relatively hardy roses with a modern look.
