My most favorite of all roses. Got it from J&P sale before they changed over. I think it was one of the new 'genesis' roses that was an answer to Austin roses. It is soft coral and it is never out of bloom.

I'm also a fan. It's one of the very few roses that I grow in multiples. RW was one of a small group of roses billed as "English Roses Born (Bred?) in America" that J&P introduced in the late 90s/very early 2000s. That was a period when a lot of us were (inexplicably, in my case) going ape over Austins, & J&P was attempting to jump on the band wagon. The first RWs sold by J&P were on Dr Huey; then for a number of years they sold it as a "New Generation" (own-root) rose. I prefer RW grafted; for me, it was very slow to build-up on its own roots, but worth the wait. This rose is a show-stopper when sharing a bed with blue salvia.

I got it from J&P too as a bonus for buying a trellis. It has done very well and puts out lots of blooms. Mine has stayed a very small bush, but I do like the color and shape of the flowers. Clare ![]()

Charleney, you are one lucky lady to have gotten ROYAL WEDDING. I've heard nothing but good about it over the years that I've heard about it. You scored on this one! :) Clare, I'm enthralled with your gorgeous photo of this beautiful rose. Thanks! :)

Are any nurseries now carrying it? I would like at least 3 more of them!
|
Roses Unlimited has it. If they're sold out this year, they're sure to have it next season. I think Heirloom also has RW. I've received some impressive bands from Heirloom, but even the largest of those are smaller than what I routinely receive from RU. Because RW on its own roots tends to be slow, I would recommend RU simply because you're likely to get a larger plant.
