Dick Clark was one of the ones that had a lot of blind growth to start out with this spring. I pruned it back and look at the candelabra it threw up as a result!
I have to say I'm very pleased with this rose. It's one of the few newer ones that actually lives up to it's hype. It's winter hardy, vigorous, healthy, blooms a lot and they last a long time too! |

Wow! Simply gorgeous! I bought a Dick Clark from Roses Unlimited this year and it is in the ground and just starting to put out tiny new growth, I'm so excited! Yours is so pretty, I love the colors!

Very colorful, Seil, and a happy bloomer.

Dick Clark is insanelt vigorous for me as well. He's just over six feet tall and blooms continuously. I've had to support some of his long canes though.

Thank you, nummy! You're going to love DC! Thanks, Krista! Brittie, I have DC in a pot and I have had to stake him up some. But this cane is really think, like an inch thick, and doesn't seem to need any support. I have 2 new basal breaks coming at the bottom too!

Wow! What a healthy rose! Dark, shiny, unblemished leaves. Hallmark of an expert gardener.

That's beautiful, seil. I've never seen a candelabra type bloom on a HT--love to get one also. DC is so gorgeous--I'm trying to slowly cut back in my rose garden. When I lose a rose, I don't replace it--my garden is getting a bit too big for me to care for it. But every time I see DC, I come close to forgetting I'm trying to cut back. All I can think of is "I want"! LOL Kate

Thanks, Nana! The thrips seem to have gone down but the heat is crisping a lot of them now. Thank you, merlcat! I would highly recommend DC! Lol, Joe, thanks but I think those clean leaves are due to this hot dry weather and not my expertise! Thank you, Kate! It's funny but I get a lot of these on my HTs. Folklore and Veterans' Honor give me big sprays at least once or twice a season too. If you do ever decide to add one DC would be a good choice!
