Here it was at planting in mid May, looked pretty bad, wasn't sure it would make it...

Here it is now, first bloom, but doesn't look like what I expected...

Afraid it probably is. If you look at the photo's on helpmefind for Arizona, you'll see that the coloring deepens in some areas of the country/weather patterns/or something.

It's been hot and dry in Michigan and that could definitely effect the color. It will probably be brighter in the fall.

Okay, thanks guys! Just wanted to make sure it wasn't mislabeled.

I think it is very pretty and love the color, it's just that the bed I put it in has more hot / bright colors (orangeade, new year, sunsprite, hot n spicy) and that seems so soft and sweet :)

Also because it is a young plant, you are not going to get good quality color yet. Wait a couple of years until the plant is really established, the color and form will improve.

Doesn't look like my Arizona, but I'm in a completely different climate. Mine is much more an orange blend throughout (google rose arizona, then press images - mine looks like those). Is it fragrant? My Arizona has no fragrance, but heart of gold has a marvelous fragrance. Regardless, it is very pretty, and blooms only get better as the plant matures.
