We live in a 1905 folk Victorian and this is the stained glass in the front window, I have always enjoyed it but this year after starting rose gardening and seeing all the photos on here of wild roses or five petal roses I kept thinking, "hey, that looks like our window!"

Do you this this was some kind of rose or just a flower?

TIA
Andrea

YES!!! It's a rose! Let's all agree that it's a rose, okay?

Now that we've laid claim to this flower, someone more familiar than I with antique singles must identify it.

But it is a rose, of that I am VERY sure.

What a wonderful thing to look upon every day, Andrea!

Does it need to be an antique? It's Altissimo!

It can't be 'Altissimo'. 'Altissimo is from 1966. The rose in the window is before 1905.

I'm envious of your vintage home and rosy stained glass window!

There are still lots to chose from then.

Anne of Geierstein
Arnold
Bengale Cerise
Carmine Pillar
Villa des Tybilles

Those are all red singles before 1905!

Sure the flower is a rose, but the leaves aren't. it's just an abstract, though a very pretty one. You can make it any rose you want.
