From another zone 5 grower, I'd say all three of those roses look pretty good given the vicious winter they just experienced. All I'd do is prune off those dead branches that don't have anything growing off them and make sure they have adequate water. Roses all over the northern zones have been slow to wake up this spring, but they'll put back on new growth and look fine by midsummer.

What are you talking about? They ARE awake! Look at all those green leaves you have on them. And the one in the third picture has some new growth coming. There is nothing wrong with those roses. You just need to be patient. Cut off the dead wood and give them a little fertilizer and watch them grow.

Hi, I agree that these roses look pretty good. Small but good. The first even looks like it has a bloom coming. Definitely prune off the dead wood, especially from the first and third rose bushes. Good luck!
