| To post a picture, get a free account at photobucket.com. Follow their easy-to-follow directions on how to upload your pics to their site. Find the "HTML CODE" (it must be the HTML CODE)--copy and paste it over here in the message box. Click on PREVIEW to see the pic. You can type before and after the pic (HTML CODE) if you wish and/or add several pictures. Hope that helps. Kate |

| Also -- It would be helpful to know where you are located. Jeri |

| I've had a cool, wet spring in northern VA then suddenly the weather turned HOT (mid 90's) and the new growth on several roses is blackened and crispy. Have you had an extreme weather change? |
|
| Aphids or hot weather was my first thought. |
|
| Or a whiff of herbicide. Roses are extremely sensitive to them. |
|
| Without knowing where you are, my initial inclination lately when I hear of abnormal, twisted grown in Knock Out is to suspect Rose Rosette Disease. Herbicide damage can also cause abnormal growth. The two types of damage look similar, but distinctly different from each other. If that makes any sense. The attached photo is a fairly advanced case of RRD that I photographed while sitting in the drive-through line at Sonic in Ashland, Virginia. (I'm attempting GW's new image file upload ... wish me luck.) |

| Worked great. Looks awful. :-( Jeri |

| I trust hartwood's understanding, but, with only that long-distance shot to go on, my first guess about the Sonic rose would be Roundup damage rather than rosette disease. If it spread gradually through the plant, it is rosette. If it happened all at once, it is Roundup. A closeup might show that it is rosette, but the thin, curly, wiry look does commonly go with Roundup. |
