I have been checking Lowes and Home Depot all summer. Lowes get potted roses in and many times they are not named. Sometimes you can dig around in the soil and find an old name tag which is buried. I did this a few days ago and found a really nice Purple Heart rose. It is busy, full of buds and very healthy. They come from a nursery in Florida. When I bought my Purple Heart, I saw a yellow rose called Gold Strike. I googled it for reviews and could find very little. Can anyone review it for me? The little info I did find said it had a slight fragrance, and that it was a bushy and vigorous plant. That's all I found. I had so many body bag roses that didn't make it, that I am trying to fill in those places with an actively growing rose bush.
I found Mr Lincoln and Angel Face at Home Depot about 6 weeks ago. Today I shovel pruned 2 Blue Girls. I had treated it systemically with Bayer for black spot and it still got it like crazy.
