This one was gifted to my from a friend and I wasn't sure I was going to like it. I have Eyeconic Pink Lemonade and love that one but I wasn't sure I needed or wanted another similar one. The jury is still out but I like what I've seen so far.

That's it for today. I'll keep posting a few at a time until I've shown all my new babies pictures, lol!

I am looking forward to hearing how these are doing. There are so many Eyeconics that if I had a good spot, it sure would be fun to have a bunch of them.

Bull's Eye isn't in the Eyeconic series. It's from Weeks bred by Peter James of the UK. The Eyeconic ones are all bred by James Sproul and released by Star. But they're similar in look. I'm not sure about Peter's breeding program but I know Jim uses hulthemia persica in his to get that colored blotch at the base of the petals. There was a lot of doubt as to how winter hardy they would be because of that but because I got BE late last fall I can say both of them are very hardy for me. They both survived in the winter pot ghetto and came back well this spring. I've planted them both out in the street bed now so we'll see how they do in the ground.

My Eyeconic Pink Lemonade does black spot somewhat but doesn't defoliate completely. I can't say about Bull's Eye yet because it's too new for me.

Just for comparison here's a pic of EPL. You can see it's much pinker in color and while it does fade some it does not go white like Bulls Eye. Petal count and bloom size is about the same at a little over two inches across.

Ok Seil... Thanks!
EPL is nice too!

RE: Bull's Eye

I planted a potted grafted Bull's Eye this year. Compared with other roses planted at the same time, BE is quite short. So, not very vigorous growth so far. Healthy though, and I really like the flowers. The yellow does fade to white but the eye is prominent and maintains its color.

Seil, have you noticed on yours, that the flowers close up at night and reopen in the day?

I got this one this year too and love it. I like how it fades to white, and how the eye goes from cranberry to violet - I like the effect of different colours of blooms in the same spray.

Can't really comment on the vigour as almost all of my roses are new this year, but I've been pleased with the growth so far. It's not super tall but it is green, bushy, and healthy looking.

Ratdogheads, I do notice that the blooms close up at night and reopen in the day.
