Hilde won Mini Queen and Dainty Bess won best single (layer of petals) at the Connecticut Rose show. My first Queen at the local Rose show, which is just 8 miles away. Competition is pretty tough--this is my fifth Queen, counting shows in Rhode Island and Cape Cod.

Elizabeth Park (yes, that is her name) won Queen with Lynn Anderson. Mirjana Toyn, the incoming President of the Society, won the Novice award! The show will be moved to an earlier date, which should allow visitors to see better roses--many gardens are past peak by the time the show is held.
