Buds wont open up

I have a nice size knockout rose bush..But there are quite
a bit of buds from last year that wont open up.. I didn't cut
down my rose bush like i usually do.. We had a bad year as far as weather.. Hot and humid but i did my best to keep it watered..The bush looks good and its full of buds..
Is there a way to get them to open?..I would appreciate any help.. I dont want to lose the bush or buds..Thank You

Something doesn't sound quite right..."flower buds" left over from last year, or growth buds which haven't sprouted? Flower buds don't roll over from one year to the next. If they didn't open in 2012, they should be dried and shriveled (or have fallen off) in mid 2013. Any chance of posting clear photos of what you're talking about? Kim

Knockouts here in our town are just now starting to bloom...
Maybe give it alittle more time...

But a photo like roseseek said would help a lot in case something else is wrong....
