Just sharing what's going on

My rose garden is just three years old. I started in the corner with hot colors..Last year I ordered from Palantine, Pickering, and Roses Unlimited. This year I have been confused..I wanted to see everything bloom..I also have roses in pots. So I did not order any roses..since I have a wonderful family owned rose source called Raft Island Roses..Today I bought three roses from Raft..Cherry Parfait, Memoire, and Elle. Europeana and Sexy Rexy got the shovel. I am very impressed with a rose called Octavia Hill..she is shaded by a laceleaf maple and does not have a drop of BS.

Cherry Parfait, Memoire, and Elle--I have these three. Cherry Parfait and Elle perform wonderfully well each year, but Memoire, a newer rose in my garden, has been wimpy--just limping along for a couple years. Lovely bloom when it manages to produce one, but the rose bush itself just looks too weakly to make flowers. Not sure what the problem is--it is growing in the same bed as Elle--same sun and water and food--Perhaps I just got a bad one, or maybe it is a real slow starter. At any rate, you might want to keep a close eye on Memoire, just in case.

I love Raft Island Roses. They are potted in good stuff. What a selection. Just wish it wasn't such a long trip for me.

Sounds exciting, Zyperiris! What made you ditch Europeana and sexy Rexy?

It must be lovely to have a good local source, although tough on the wallet!

Europeana was always getting that whitish mold..and Sexy Rexy was just boring. BTW-My Memoire has done very well so far
