| Just when I thought everything was going well with my new rose, something happens. Today I spotted some holes in the leaves of my precious Easy Does It rose, which was rewarding my wait so far with 2 beautiful flowers. Here are the holes. They are sort of oval-shaped and on either side of the central vein of the leaves. What is causing these holes and what can I do about it? Thank you.

| Sawfly larvae. "Rose Slugs." They are small green caterpillars, ON THE UNDERSIDE of the leaves. You can look for them, find them, and squish them, and this is really the best way to deal with them. When they have turned into sawflies, they'll be gone, but better to kill them sooner, rather than later. Jeri |
